ON Semiconductor Site in Vietnam Named One of the 2020 Best Companies to Work for in Asia

On July 1, ON Semiconductor Binh Duong received HR Asia’s 2020 “Best Companies To Work For in Asia” award under the Vietnam Chapter. HR Asia, being the most authoritative publication for senior HR professionals, organizes this event every year to raise the bar for employee engagement and workplace excellence in Asia.  

The ON Semiconductor team at the site in Vietnam successfully completed two rigorous assessments as part of the process. One of which was an internal input survey to measure the engagement of our workforce. It covered emotional engagement (heart), intention and motivation (mind), advocacy and behavior (soul), as well as the elements of collective consciousness (think), workplace sentiment (feel) and team dynamics (do). 

With these details, a unique 360-degree employee engagement survey studied how engaged an employee is, how they engage in group environments and in response to corporate initiatives. Our survey results exceeded the industry benchmarking average in every question asked.

This contributed to the high sense of belonging cultivated from the most engaged listening approach to employee feedback as well as how we strive for continuous improvement in the workplace.

Following the internal survey, in-depth interviews were held with the local management team. In these conversations, the leaders shared initiatives tied to corporate social responsibility, diversity and inclusion, corporate culture as well as the COVID-19 measures put forth for employee safety.

This year, 308 companies were nominated for HR Asia's Best Companies to Work For from across many industry sectors, with a total of 11,430 employees. Overall, HR Asia was impressed with ON Semiconductor’s corporate social responsibility achievements and their robust employee engagement plans that prompted launching preventive COVID-19 measures at the site.
