ON Semiconductor's Global Clean Up the World Day Action
At ON Semiconductor, we place a high importance on sustainability and doing our part to take care of the planet which is why we celebrated global Clean Up the World day this past weekend (September 20-22, 2019)! Clean Up the World was established in 1993 and is one of the largest community-based environmental programs in the world. Their vision is to inspire a billion people across all continents to tread lightly, clean up and conserve the planet.
As part of our global corporate giving grant program, ON Semiconductor funded a special clean-up initiative with Natural Restorations. This nonprofit removes trash, graffiti and anything foreign to the environment from outdoor recreation and wilderness areas throughout the state of Arizona, and recently, the charity received permission from the Tonto National Forest’s Mesa Ranger District and the Tonto National Forest Archeologist to begin a graffiti and trash removal project. ON Semiconductor's grant to Natural Restorations in November 2018 helped to remove 3,704 square feet of graffiti and 3,620 pounds of trash - see more about these efforts here.
Through actions like these or the actions you take in your local community, we can all make an impact, helping the world to be a cleaner and better place!
