ON Semiconductor's Shenzhen Sales Office Holds Their First Charity Week Event

The ON Semiconductor Shenzhen sales office held their first Charity Week with the support from the Shenzhen staff recreation committee and the local management team. The goal was to increase employees’ awareness in the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs and showed that together as a team, they can achieve significant results for a great cause.
Events that were organized for the Charity Week included a hike, a market and a donation drive. Activities were held both virtually and in-person to provide more convenient options and garner higher employee participation.
The hike was held on September 5, 2020 and employees who joined the hike not only enjoyed the beautiful natural scenery but also committed to donating their steps to charitable organizations.
The market and donation events officially kicked off on September 4, 2020. Wendy Wang, member of the Global Grant Advisors’ committee introduced employees to Global Giving’s programs. The market had more than 150 items for sale, which were second-hand or idle goods donated by the site’s 44 employees and all the items were purchased by ON Semiconductor employees during the live auction events. The proceeds were donated to a special joint-effort program led by ON Semiconductor and Ai You Foundation, who offers medical assistance to orphaned and underprivileged children.
As of September 21, 2020, the team calculated that there were 245 donations. With these funds, the Ai You Foundation will be able to help 66 children located in rural areas of Western China by providing them with meal packages for one month. Special thanks to our Global Giving Program for the sponsorship donation and employee matching options to this well-deserved Foundation.
