Servicemembers, Spouses, Veterans Name Booz Allen as Top Employer
A spouse’s employment status can make a big impact on transitioning from active duty to civilian life, according to a 2017 survey by BlueStar Families. Yet fewer than half (47%) of military spouses are currently employed1.
Booz Allen is changing this situation—and career support for the military community—for the better. The company’s efforts have been recognized by GI Jobs Magazine, which named Booz Allen a 2019 Top Military Friendly® Employer (Silver Level, up from Bronze in 2018), and U.S. Veterans Magazine, which named Booz Allen among its 2018 “Best of the Best.”
“We support the military community by providing our Veteran, Reservist, National Guard, and military spouse employees a welcoming environment and career-enriching resources to facilitate successful transitions throughout their careers,” said Andrea Inserra, senior vice president at Booz Allen.
These resources are part of an overarching commitment to servicemembers, their families, and their work. “At Booz Allen, we recognize the value of our military community within the firm, with our clients and in our neighborhoods,” Inserra said. “Booz Allen was founded by a veteran, more than a third of our employees are personally connected to the military, and a large portion of our work is dedicated to helping solve the military’s toughest challenges.”
The Military Friendly® Employers list reflects survey responses and extensive research of more than 8,800 employers nationwide. To compile the U.S. Veterans Magazine’s “Best of the Best” list, DiversityComm polled hundreds of Fortune 1000 companies and conducted research about their offerings to transitioning service members, disabled veterans, spouses and veteran business owners.
