Set the Agenda for the Future: Join GRI's Corporate Leadership Groups
GRI is looking for new members to join its Corporate Leadership Groups, to formulate innovative solutions to pressing sustainability challenges and shape the future of reporting.
In January 2018, world leaders in business, policy and activism met in Davos, Switzerland to talk about the state of the world today. The theme of this year’s meeting was “Creating a Shared Future in a Fractured World.” GRI’s Chief Executive Tim Mohin attended the event, and stressed how creating transparency around the world’s most pressing challenges through sustainability reporting is an essential first step. The GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards can help organizations identify issues in their supply chain, and find solutions to promote the creation of this shared future.
This cannot be done in isolation. As the world did in Davos, enterprise, governments and experts should come together to talk about the issues and work on improvements, together.
To promote engagement, GRI is calling for companies to join its Corporate Leadership Groups. The groups offer opportunities to formulate innovative solutions to common challenges and shape the future of reporting, in cooperation with experts in the field. Along with the ongoing Corporate Action Group on Reporting on the SDGs, the next themes on the table are Conflict Minerals and Human Rights and Modern Slavery. Later in the year we will discuss Digital Reporting.
We are inviting companies to take a seat at the discussion table, and become global leaders that help shape the new strategy for sustainability reporting on these matters. By joining GRI’s Corporate Leadership Groups, you can help set the agenda to make sustainability reporting more concise, consistent, comparable and current, make reports more relevant to the needs of stakeholders and investors, and embed sustainability in your business strategy.
Conflict minerals
In this Corporate Leadership Group, companies will contribute to develop globally-applicable reporting resources and tools and a common framework for disclosure on responsible minerals. You can be one of the pioneers that helps establish the most important elements of how to carry out due diligence reporting.
Human rights and modern slavery
Governments and investors are promoting more transparency to identify possible cases of modern slavery in supply chains. Yet, many companies struggle to meet reporting and regulatory requirements. In the Corporate Leadership Group on Human Rights and Modern Slavery, companies and experts will play a crucial role in identifying best practices and existing gaps, and developing a harmonized approach to address challenges, based on existing tools and frameworks.
Practical information
The Corporate Leadership Groups on Conflict Minerals and Human Rights and Modern Slavery will begin in April. For more information, or to express interest, please contact Simone Warren or read more on this webpage.
In order to join GRI's Corporate Leadership Groups, you must have at least three years of sustainability reporting experience and your company must be a GRI GOLD Community member, or willing to become one.
