Executives from Shoes For Crews present Sodexo Foundation with check for $21,000 to fight childhood hunger. The cause marketing partnership of nine years has raised a total $179,000 for Sodexo Foundation.

(3BL Media) Gaithersburg, MD - October 1, 2012 - After more than nine years collaborating on a cause marketing effort designed to fight childhood hunger, the relationship between Shoes For Crews®, LLC (SFC) and Sodexo Foundation remains a comfortable fit. SFC, a global leader in slip-resistant work shoes, presented Sodexo Foundation with a check for $21,000 today at Sodexo’s North American headquarters in Gaithersburg, Md. To date, the partnership has raised a total of $179,000.

“We’ve had the amazing support of Shoes For Crews in this cause marketing partnership since 2003,” said Robert A. Stern, chair, Sodexo Foundation. “It was clear from the beginning that they understood the need that exists when it comes to hunger among 1 in 5 kids in this country and they were happy to step in and help out.”

The annual cause marketing campaign contributes a portion of all proceeds to Sodexo Foundation for every pair of safety shoes sold to Sodexo employees who work at schools, college campuses, corporate and government facilities and remote sites. Sales that take place within a two-month window (August and September for 2012) count toward the campaign.

Matthew K. Smith, CEO of Shoes For Crews stated, “Our decision to partner with Sodexo Foundation goes beyond providing safety footwear for their thousands of employees – we have joined forces to help end childhood hunger for the more than 16 million children affected by it in our nation.”

Shoes For Crews joins other Sodexo-preferred vendors involved in similar cause marketing campaigns, which raised an additional $200,000 this year for Sodexo Foundation. Thanks to their efforts, Sodexo Foundation, in collaboration with strategic partners like Share Our Strength and YSA (Youth Service America), is able to support a full spectrum of programs that work to directly fight childhood hunger and also engage youth involvement to raise awareness and provide solutions.
