Stone Soup Films Joins Taproot in Pro Bono Week 2013 Campaign
Stone Soup Films, a Washington DC nonprofit film cooperative, announces its participation in Pro Bono Week from October 20-26, 2013. Taproot Foundation is convening intermediary partners around Pro Bono Week to celebrate and activate pro bono service across all professions that use their talents to make a difference. Stone Soup Films is the only nonprofit production company in the country that harnesses volunteer film and television professionals to create short promotional documentaries free of charge to worthy organizations.
During Pro Bono Week 2013, Stone Soup Films volunteers will fan out among several pro bono projects being conducted to document their work. By telling the story of pro bono and its impact, we hope to both show best practices as well as inspire others to join the movement. A completed film about the week will be shown at the final gathering of participants and will serve as a tool to showcase the work online for future campaigns.

ABOUT STONE SOUP FILMS
Stone Soup Films is a 501(c)(3) production company that creates and donates quality promotional films for worthy non-profits in Washington, D.C. in order to enhance their visibility among donors, constituents, and the general public.
ABOUT PRO BONO SERVICE
Pro bono--short for pro bono publico, "for the public good"—refers to professional services delivered without expectation of a fee to organizations serving the social good. It is both a form of support for community organizations as well as an increasingly core part of the ethic of business professionals from design to HR and technology, who believe that high-quality professional services are too important to only be available to those who can afford them.
