Super-Efficient LG ENERGY STAR Models Named ‘Official 4K Ultra HD TV’ for INTX 2016
Providing Scores of ENERGY STAR LG LED and OLED TVs, LG Also Named ‘Official 4K UHD TV Partner of 2016 NAB Show’
ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J., May 17, 2016 – ENERGY STAR® certified 4K Ultra HD TVs, center stage at two major industry trade shows this spring, are new super-energy-efficient models from LG Electronics. More than 30 percent more efficient than conventional LCD 4K UHD TVs, the new LG UH6550 4K UHD models use the revolutionary new M+ panel technology from LG Electronics’ sister company LG Display.
The National Cable and Telecommunications Association named LG Electronics USA the “Official Ultra HD TV Partner” for INTX 2016, the Internet & Television Expo, this week in Boston. Similarly, the National Association of Broadcasters named LG Electronics USA “Official Ultra HD TV Partner” for last month’s NAB Show in Las Vegas.
All told, more than 150 LG ENERGY STAR certified 4K UHD TVs in 75-, 65-, 55-, 49- and 43-inch screen sizes, were used at the INTX and NAB shows.
At INTX, dozens of LG 4K UHD TVs were installed at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. LG’s 65-inch class 65UH6550 and 43-inch class 43UH6550 were featured in the show’s “Disrupted Reality” and “It’s All TV” zones, while the 75-inch class model 75UH6550 flanked the stage in “Imagine Park.”
The NAB installed LG’s UH6550 series (ranging from 49- to 75-inch class sizes) 4K UHD TVs throughout its sprawling trade show at the Las Vegas Convention Center, from the Grand Lobby to NAB “Futures Park.” The Broadcast Education Association and Advanced Television Systems Committee also featured these LG 4K UHD TVs.
ENERGY STAR certified LG OLED TVs, recognized by industry pundits as the “best TV ever,” also were highlighted at both trade shows.
LG OLED 4K TVs were featured at both the NAB Television Luncheon and NAB Technology Luncheon. At INTX, LG OLED 4K TVs were used to demonstrate new high dynamic range (HDR) streaming apps – thanks to OLED’s perfect blacks and limitless contrast ratios that deliver superior HDR capabilities.
