LEED Gold Certification at Ingersoll Rand Campus Benefits Occupants While Helping the Planet
Two LEED Gold Certified buildings at Ingersoll Rand’s North American headquarters in Davidson, North Carolina, demonstrate the value of sustainability in terms of saving resources as well as creating a better experience for people.
Achieving LEED Gold Certification came from a combination of using locally-sourced materials during construction to minimize environmental impacts of transporting supplies, and putting systems in place for long-term energy efficiency and waste reductions. For example, LED lighting, intelligent controls and use of natural lighting work together to save energy and provide a comfortable workspace for occupants. In another instance, focusing on plumbing fixtures has enabled a 42 percent reduction of water use. See on-site video about various sustainability initiatives. http://bit.ly/2b4fX4W
