Tackling Hunger and Homelessness in Las Vegas
Las Vegas Sands partners with Three Square for the Bag Childhood Hunger campaign

With homelessness as a critical social issue in Southern Nevada, Las Vegas Sands properties in Las Vegas held a month-long food drive in partnership with Three Square for the Bag Childhood Hunger Campaign.
Since 2014, the properties have held an annual food drive with the nonprofit, but this was their first year targeting childhood hunger specifically. The food drive was a success with about 1,440 pounds of food collected and more than $5,500 donated by Team Members, with an additional match by Sands Cares, the company’s global corporate giving program. In total, the summer food drive effort provided more than 34,000 meals to local children in need.
“I couldn’t be more thrilled with the outcome of our latest campaign to Bag Childhood Hunger, in partnership with Three Square,” Stephanie Stanton, director of Sands Cares at The Venetian and The Palazzo, said. “Too many Las Vegas valley kids go without good nutrition when they are out of school. We provided our Team Members the opportunity to give in ways most convenient for them – whether it be online donations, cash or traditional non-perishables – which was a key component to the success of this drive. Our Team Members continue to be the most generous and committed in the industry.”
The Venetian, The Palazzo, and Sands Expo have partnered with Three Square on several occasions including their food rescue and recycling programs. The properties are also committed to providing volunteers multiple times a year to ensure Three Square’s food bank runs efficiently.
Las Vegas Sands is committed to making the communities where they operate a better place to live. Through Sands Cares, its global corporate charitable giving program, Team Members across the world come together to provide financial giving, volunteerism, or in-kind support.
