Taproot Foundation and Out Cold Marketing Pro Bono Truck Tour Hits Chicago Again
From October 20-24, look out for Taproot’s Pro Bono Ice Cream Truck at some of Chicago’s most philanthropic corporations and famous landmarks downtown!
October 17, 2014 /3BL Media/ - Taproot Foundation and Out Cold Marketing are partnering together again to execute a five-day, guerrilla marketing campaign across Chicago. From October 20-24, a pro bono-themed Ice Cream Truck will be touring the streets of Chicago, raising awareness about civic engagement and volunteerism. The campaign, donated pro bono by Out Cold Marketing, aims to inspire Chicagoans to get more involved during national Pro Bono Week.
In 2013, Taproot and Out Cold Marketing partnered together to execute a guerilla marketing camapign around pro bono service using a vintage VW bus. This year's campaign will feature a Taproot-branded Pro Bono Ice Cream Truck which aims to celebrate pro bono and activate public interest in volunteerism. The Pro Bono Ice Cream Truck will make stops at some of Chicago’s most philanthropic corporations and famous landmarks downtown.
Taproot and Out Cold Marketing’s teams will be talking with residents and tourists all over the city, informing them how they as individuals, companies or nonprofits can get involved with and support the pro bono movement. The campaign is organized in conjunction with Pro Bono Week, a global platform that acknowledges and inspires pro bono service.
The Taproot Pro Bono Ice Cream Truck will be cruising around Chicago on the Monday - Friday of Pro Bono Week. Want the bus to make a stop at your company or nonprofit? Contact Mary Hankey (312-635-1129 or mary@taprootfoundation.org).
The entirety of this campaign, including its design and implementation, has been donated pro bono by Out Cold Marketing. OCM petitioned their friends to help out as well, facilitating support for a donated bus wrap from In Sight Sign Co. Out Cold Marketing also secured discounted candy from Specialty Marketing and Out Cold Marketing covered the remaining cost.
Taproot’s national Pro Bono Week efforts are generously supported by BMO Harris Bank and Deloitte.
ABOUT TAPROOT
Since 2001, Taproot Foundation has proven that pro bono service is a viable and reliable tool for strengthening nonprofit organizations. Today, Taproot continues to lead nationally by acting locally, and seeks to build a pro bono marketplace that, like philanthropy, is large, accessible, professional and transparent. By taking lessons learned from our award-winning Service Grant Program and applying them to our innovative new program areas, we work to stimulate the supply of pro bono resources through our corporate Advisory Services practice, as well as demand for these services by giving nonprofits the tools and training that sets them up for successful pro bono engagements. Our work has evolved to include thought leadership and international field-building, convening global leaders in the social sector to guide the design and direction of the pro bono movement while focusing on infusing a pro bono ethic into business professions, professional schools, companies and nonprofits in communities across the country and around the world.
