TerraPass Launches Carbon Offset Subscription Service
October 30, 2013 /3BL Media/ - TerraPass, a leading provider of carbon offsets and RECs, launched a monthly carbon offset subscription service to help individuals and businesses fight climate change by destroying greenhouse gases each month. Individuals and businesses can calculate their carbon footprint using TerraPass’ carbon calculator, and then sign up to offset their footprint on a monthly basis.
According to Managing Director, Mark Mondik, “We created this product because many people calculate and offset their carbon footprint once a year. We want to help our community think about—and actively reduce—their carbon footprint much more frequently than that.”
Using the subscription service, customers can set their average monthly carbon footprint. Then, as they successfully lower their carbon footprint, they can gradually reduce their monthly offset subscription amount. “We are challenging people to do less each month,” said Mondik.
Carbon offsets from TerraPass fund emission reduction projects, such as agricultural methane and landfill gas capture, that are located in communities across the United States. In addition to fighting climate change the projects create jobs, reduce pollution and generate energy.
ABOUT TERRAPASS
Everyone needs a home, food, and a way to travel. Even after you’ve done your best to reduce through action, some of these activities will emit greenhouse gases. Carbon offsets let you help build projects in communities across the country that reduce emissions beyond what you could achieve through individual action. Offsets make environmental and economic sense: for emissions that are impossible to reduce, you can use funds to help reduce emissions elsewhere.
TerraPass projects help businesses and individuals reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by creating carbon offsets, renewable energy credits (RECs) and sustainable energy. We believe everyone can take action to fight climate change.
