Tetra Tech Sponsors Upcoming Engineering News-Record Webinar on Funding Utility Resilience for Water Extremes

September 19, 2018 /3BL Media/ - Local utilities face significant challenges to build resilient infrastructure and maintain uninterrupted and safe operations as communities around the world continue to experience ongoing weather extremes. Tetra Tech is sponsoring the second of two Engineering News-Record (ENR) webinars focused on how utilities can cope with challenges ranging from drought to flooding and coastal inundation and fund the necessary infrastructure to protect their communities.

The first webinar, “Building Utility Resilience for Water Extremes,” focused on effective steps communities can take to prepare themselves for water extremes. The second webinar, “Funding Utility Resilience for Water Extremes” will be held on September 20, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. Eastern and will discuss funding challenges and resources for water, wastewater, and stormwater utilities to prepare for water extremes. The webinar will focus on funding for pre-disaster mitigation, design adaptation, and infrastructure rebuild that will make communities less vulnerable before, during, and after extreme weather and wildfire events. This webinar will provide federal, state, and local perspectives for funding and building resilient water infrastructure.

Pam Russell, ENR’s Senior Energy and Environment Editor, will moderate discussion among a panel of experts from across the United States. Speakers include:

• Jorianne Jernberg, WIFIA program Director, manages the implementation of a new federal lending program at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and oversees the evaluation, underwriting, negotiation, and monitoring of water and watershed infrastructure projects around the country
• Danusha Chandy,  WIFIA program Senior Engineer, has managed various water infrastructure and environmental projects and worked as an engineer for the City of Ithaca, New York, and the Boston Water and Sewer Commission
• Tom Entsminger, State Programs Coordinator of the Texas Water Development Board, is involved with the administration of several financing programs for water and wastewater infrastructure across Texas
• Adam Kanold, Engineering Manager for the Montecito Water District, specializes in water, wastewater, and stormwater utility design and construction and was a civil engineer with Tetra Tech for more than 12 years, supporting both domestic and international projects
