Texas Diversity Council to Recognize Woman of the Year at the 18th Annual Women in Leadership Symposium
HOUSTON, January 18, 2022 /3BL Media/ - The Texas Diversity Council (TXDC) will celebrate Women’s History Month at the 18th Annual Women in Leadership Symposium, “Paragon of Womanhood: Restoration, Reintegration, Reemergence” honoring the 2022 Woman of the Year on Tuesday, March 15, from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. virtually via Zoom. The Women in Leadership Symposium, which started in San Antonio, Texas in 2004, will surpass the two million attendees milestone this year. Since its inception, the program has been hosted in over 100 cities across the US and internationally, including Paris, London, Dubai, Toronto, Vancouver, Hawaii and Mexico City.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, eighty percent of the 1.1 million people who exited the workforce were women, at the onset of the pandemic. Female participation has already dropped to fifty seven percent-the lowest level since 1988, according to the National Women’s Law Center. With a lack of access to affordable childcare resources, educational support, work-life flexibility and skills training; many women are finding challenges with reintegrating into the workplace. Organizers hope for this year’s event to inspire women to redefine womanhood as women are reintegrating into the workforce.
The event will recognize extraordinary women who have demonstrated professional excellence and consistent leadership as role models and mentors for other women. “The 2022 Woman of the Year Award recognizes those that are changemakers working towards equity and inclusion,” said Angeles Valenciano, CEO of the National Diversity Council.“ We are very proud of this group of extraordinary, courageous, and inclusive leaders who have committed themselves and opened doors of opportunity for ALL women.”
The event will kick off with a welcome from the CEO and the presentation of awards followed by a panel presentation. The individual ticket cost is $125.00.
