Thirteen More Brands Giving Back This Holiday Season through Whole Planet Foundation

Whole Planet Foundation is grateful to suppliers of Whole Foods Market alleviating poverty with us this holiday season! To date, supplier partners have donated over $14 million to create economic opportunity for those that lack access to financial services in communities where Whole Foods Market sources products. We are excited to highlight these additional brands donating a portion of sales in select Whole Foods Market stores to benefit microentrepreneurs through Whole Planet Foundation’s microfinance partners around the globe.  

Beyond Good 

“We support Whole Planet Foundation because it’s perfectly aligned with our company’s mission and commitment to helping create better lives for the people in countries like Madagascar,” says the team from Beyond Good. 

From December 1 – 31, 2020, $0.50 from the sale of Beyond Good products will be donated to fund microloans to empower the world’s poorest entrepreneurs in communities where Whole Foods Market sources products.  

Bigelow Tea 

“Woman-founded Bigelow Tea is family owned and strives to support the local communities where we are based as well as contribute to worthy local and national causes,” says the team from Bigelow Tea.  

From December 1 – 31, $0.02 from the sale Bigelow Tea products will be donated to fund microloans to empower the world’s poorest entrepreneurs in communities where Whole Foods Market sources products.  

Chameleon Cold-Brew 

“We are excited to support Whole Planet Foundation and invest in the empowerment of communities around the world. At Chameleon, we’re committed to inspiring long-term economic, environmental, and social sustainability throughout our coffee supply chain,” says Matt Swenson, Chief Product Officer of Chameleon Cold-Brew. 

“We’ve recently began working with some newly formed female-led coffee cooperatives in Myanmar and Indonesia to empower these women through purchase contracts and additional voluntary investments. Over the past year, we’ve funded one of the cooperatives’ organic certifications and purchased the very first 40,000 pounds from each of the cooperatives. We feel passionately about Whole Planet Foundation’s mission to provide microloans to female entrepreneurs around the world and hope that, together, we can continue to inspire more opportunity for women within coffee around the world.” 

From December 1 – 31, 2020, $0.10 from the sale of Chameleon Cold-Brew products will be donated to fund microloans to empower the world’s poorest entrepreneurs in communities where Whole Foods Market sources products.  

Evolve  

Evolve joined Whole Planet Foundation’s $10,000 Fund in 2019 and has participated in our annual virtual runs and holiday programs in order to help alleviate global poverty. Evolve provides a recipe for delicious coconut cranberry protein balls to help fuel us during the holiday season. Check the recipe out here

From December 1 – 31, 2020, 10% of sales of Evolve Plant-based Protein products will be donated to fund microloans to empower the world’s poorest entrepreneurs in communities where Whole Foods Market sources products.   

Frontier Co-op 

Whole Planet Foundation honored the Frontier Co-op Well Earth sourcing program as its 2019 Trailblazer. The missions of Whole Planet Foundation and Frontier Co-op align perfectly around one central idea — empowering people. In 2007, Frontier Co-op created their Well Earth sourcing program not only to ensure the sustainability of its products, but to empower its growers. 

“We work directly with our Well Earth growers right at the source, often over many years, to empower them with a wide range of resources that will secure the long-term stability of their farms — and their communities,” said Cole Daily, Executive Vice President of Operations at Frontier Co-op. 

Since 2014, Frontier Co-op has worked with Whole Planet Foundation, donating $565,001 to fund 9,350 microloans and create 50,302 opportunities for microentrepreneurs to flourish. 

From December 1 – 31, 2020, 1% of sales of Frontier Co-Op Ugandan vanilla extract will be donated to fund microloans to empower the world’s poorest entrepreneurs in communities where Whole Foods Market sources products. 

Health-Ade 

Health-Ade Kombucha creates opportunity this holiday season through the sales of their Holiday Cheers Kombucha.  “Health-Ade is so proud to be part of the journey of other aspiring entrepreneurs as we commemorate another year of supporting Whole Planet Foundation. Health-Ade was built on breaking the mold and “following our gut” so we are honored to stand with Whole Planet Foundation in their mission to alleviate poverty by supporting tenacious, innovative dreamers out there doing the same.” 

From December 1-31, 2019, $0.10 from the sale of Health-Ade’s Holiday Cheers Kombucha will be donated to support microentrepreneurs in the U.S. and around the globe with opportunity. 

If You Care 

If You Care is a leader in pushing the limits of environmental and social responsibility in its categories and is committed to ethical sourcing. Through their support of Whole Planet Foundation, If You Care supports microentrepreneurs around the globe with economic opportunity.

Lundberg Family Farms

Farming may seem like a male-dominated field (literally), but Lundberg Family Farms would be nothing without women, who make up a majority of the company’s owners and half of the company’s Board of Directors. The Lundberg family is dedicated to putting food on the table and making sure everyone has a seat so we can keep growing together for generations to come.  

“My family and I are proud to partner with Whole Planet Foundation to cultivate opportunity for female entrepreneurs around the world,” says Julianne Lundberg Stafford, Chair of the Board of Directors, Lundberg Family Farms.

From December 1 – 31, 2020, 5% of sales of Lundberg products will be donated to fund microloans to empower the world’s poorest entrepreneurs in communities where Whole Foods Market sources products.  

MopTop  

MopTop’s founder Kelly Foreman went years without a good hair day until she began the quest to find beauty in her wild curls. MopTop was the result – a line of natural, junk-free products that will make your hair turn heads, for all the best reasons.

From December 1 – 31, 2020, 10% of sales of Mop Top products will be donated to fund microloans to empower the world’s poorest entrepreneurs in communities where Whole Foods Market sources products.

Pact 

Pact invests in global communities. The company believes the people who make Pact clothes are equal to those that wear them. Pact’s Fair-Trade Factory Certification ensures that the people who craft their clothing and home goods are treated fairly and provided with additional income to invest in their communities. Additionally, through their support of Whole Planet Foundation, they invest in women entrepreneurs living in poverty by donating a portion of sales to fund microloans around the globe.  

This December, Pact is committed to help alleviate global poverty through the work of Whole Planet Foundation. “On top of all Pact apparel being on sale in Whole Foods Market stores, we are also donating 10% of all sales to Whole Planet Foundation’s microlending programs,” says the Pact team.

skinisskin 

“skinisskin is rooted in two worlds: we were born in Austin, Texas and our skincare products are made in Senegal, Africa. We believe in supporting entrepreneurs who help create an independent, thriving community and opportunities for a better life,” says the skinisskin team. 

From December 1-31, 2019, 1% of the sales of skinisskin products will be donated to fund microloans to empower the world’s poorest entrepreneurs in communities where Whole Foods Market sources products.  

Solgar Vitamins 

Solgar was founded in 1947 in the United States, and since then has grown into a company who believes in giving back and making a positive change in the world. They have numerous initiatives to give back to their communities, including their support of Whole Planet Foundation’s microlending projects.  

From December 1 – 31, 2020, $1 from the sale of Full Spectrum Curcumin will be donated to fund microloans to empower the world’s poorest entrepreneurs in communities where Whole Foods Market sources products.  

The Republic of Tea 

At The Republic of Tea we embody the ancient Chinese philosophy of Tashun — the Great Harmony — when people naturally care about the world and depend on each other for the well-being of the whole. It is a collective concern for others and aspiration to seek opportunities, initiatives and actions that will better the human condition as well as the planet. This aligns with our long-term commitment to Whole Planet Foundation and its mission. 

From December 1 – 31, 2020, $0.40 from the sale of The Republic of Tea’s holiday assortment gift will be donated to fund microloans to empower the world’s poorest entrepreneurs in communities where Whole Foods Market sources products.
