With over 10,000 employees spread out across its Northeast footprint, Time Warner Cable employees are committed to those communities in which they live and work. The Northeast markets are very diverse in terms of geography as well as community needs, and a combination of national and grassroots nonprofit partnerships abound.  The challenge is managing the partnerships and providing a variety of opportunity for those employees spread out across New York State. Rather than working individually with the agencies and often times duplicating efforts in each market, the strategy is to work cumulatively to make a larger impact – successfully meeting the needs of both agency and employee.

That was never more evident than during the last three months where over 250 employees volunteered over 1,000 hours and helped seven nonprofit partners reach their goals.  Partners included the Boys & Girls Club of Syracuse NY, the American Cancer Society, the American Red Cross, Food Bank of Central New York, Cure Foundation, Tuesday’s Children, and the Rescue Mission. Efforts ranged from providing backpacks of school supplies for school children to packaging canned goods to compiling totes of hope for homeless veterans to walking to support breast cancer and feeding the homeless at a shelter.

The end result is taken collectively; these events provided critical assistance to each of the agencies while enabling local TWC employees to give back to their hometowns and even their customers.  Small efforts add up to big impacts. Making connections that matter.
