Time Warner Cable Picks up CSR Awards at Both Cynopsis Media and PR News Awards Ceremonies
Specialized Team Spotlights Accomplishments Through Awards
By Soo Kim, Specialist, Corporate Communications
At Time Warner Cable, we actively seek to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of the company and its employees at all levels of the organization, within and outside the cable industry. Awards not only provide recognition for an individual or team leading a particular project or initiative but also help organizations shine a spotlight on their efforts and accomplishments.
In addition, it’s a great way to help benchmark projects and results against other companies’ efforts. Even if a submission does not result in a win, being able to see what others are doing and what they have achieved can help bring insights and future ideas to the table in your own business
At Time Warner Cable, while industry awards have traditionally been the predominant catalyst for nominations, we have increasingly sought to proactively seek out more non-industry recognition of the company and our people, to help drive wider awareness of our products/services and leadership.
Recently, for example, we’ve made great strides in gaining awareness outside the traditional cable industry for the work Time Warner Cable does in the community. Just last week, we were recognized at the Cynopsis’ inaugural Social Good Awards, and this week at the PR News CSR Awards.
The Cynopsis Social Good Awards celebrates the people, partnerships and programs that benchmark excellence in the area of social good in the Television and Entertainment industry. Along with so many other outstanding organizations doing good in the community, we are proud to have received the following recognition:
- Time Warner Cable – Boys & Girls Clubs of America National Partnership (Nonprofit/Corporate Partnership: Youth Initiatives)
- Tessie Topol, Vice President, Corporate Social Responsibility - Time Warner Cable (Social Good Leader of the Year)
The PR News CSR Awards salute those organizations that made incredible strides and understand the power of CSR in public relations. In addition to the accolades we received below, Time Warner Cable’s signature philanthropic initiative, Connect a Million Minds, was further distinguished by being inducted into the PR News’ CSR Hall of Fame!
- Time Warner Cable – Bridging the Digital Divide in Local Communities: Learning Labs (Community Affairs)
- Time Warner Cable – Boys & Girls Clubs of America National Partnership (Nonprofit Partnership)
- Time Warner Cable – TWC Eyes and Ears AMBER Alert Initiative (Workplace Innovation)
- Time Warner Cable’s Connect a Million Minds (CSR Hall of Fame)
This recognition serves as a way for Time Warner Cable to celebrate and take pride in what we do...and it allows us to shine that spotlight on our efforts for a broader audience.
