TransCanada is proud to partner with The Lifesaving Society to grow their Swim to Survive+™ program in Ontario. Earlier this summer, TransCanada announced their new partnership with a donation of $100,000.
According to the Lifesaving Society about half of Canadian children never take traditional swimming lessons, increasing their chances of water-related injuries or drowning.
The Lifesaving Society aims to teach our children the essentials needed to survive an unexpected fall into deep water as well as summer water safety skills. To date, more than 1,000 Ontario children have participated in the Swim to Survive+™ program, and expansion throughout Ontario in 2013 and 2014 is to come.
