UPS and United Way Deliver St. Bernard Parish (LA) Family to a Permanent Home
(3BLMedia/theCSRfeed) July 23, 2010 - In preparation for the 5th anniversary of the landfall of Hurricane Katrina, on July 24, nearly 100 volunteers from UPS, the United Way and the St. Bernard Project will help the Treaudo family finally move into a permanent home.
Recognizing that nearly 1,000 families in the Greater New Orleans region are still in FEMA trailers or temporary housing, UPS has partnered with the St. Bernard Project and United Way’s NO Place Like Home campaign to move local families from temporary housing back into their own permanent homes. In addition to the move in, volunteers will also work on the construction of three new homes for Katrina-affected families.
