Video Welcome: Opening Day at Warrior Games Sponsored by Deloitte

The Warrior Games presented by Deloitte provides the opportunity to put our experience and passion to work for the benefit of the USOC. This year, Robin Lineberger, CEO Federal Government Services, Deloitte LLP spoke at the opening ceremony with Prince Harry and 1,200 others in attendance, U.S. Navy Lt. Brad Snyder, who competed at the 2012 Warrior Games before winning three medals at the London 2012 Paralympic Games, lit the cauldron to signify the start of the Games, which features seven sports.

For the 2013 Warrior Game presented by Deloitte  more than 20 Deloitte professionals are volunteering their time and talent to participate in the management and coordination of the competition. Some Deloitte employees travel hundreds of miles to attend and show support for the 260 participating service members and veterans.

 

About the Warrior Games

The Warrior Games, presented by Deloitte and organized by the U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC), are designed to introduce wounded, ill and injured service members and veterans to Paralympic sport competition and encourages them to stay physically active.  The competition will be held in Colorado Springs, Colo., May 11-16, 2013.  Two-hundred sixty injured service members and veterans will participate in the fourth annual event, representing the Army, Marine Corps, Navy/Coast Guard, Air Force and Special Operations, as well as one international team from the U.K.  Teams will compete in seven sports including archery, cycling, shooting, sitting volleyball, swimming, track & field and wheelchair basketball.
