VolunteerMatch has been singled out as a financial sustainability success story in a new report by Nonprofit Finance Fund, one of the nation's leading community development financial institutions.

The NFF Capital Partners report looks at the value of philanthropic equity investments for nine nonprofits NFF has helped since 2006, including sector leaders GlobalGiving, DonorsChoose.org, Year Up and Ashoka Changemakers.

In a press release last week, Craig Reigel, Managing Director of NFF Capital Partners, spotlighted VolunteerMatch as an example of philanthropic equity allowing nonprofits to build the businesses required to implement effective business models, scale impact, and create lasting change:

"Late in 2011, portfolio member VolunteerMatch reached 100 percent sustainability.  In doing so, they achieved one of their core goals of applying philanthropic equity."
