Wellist's Covid-19 Response Programs Recognized by MassTLC's Tech Top 50 Award
BOSTON, December 4, 2020 /3BL Media/ - Wellist, a consumer navigation programs provider, has been recognized for their COVID-19 Response efforts by the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council (MassTLC) Tech Top 50. The award recognizes tech companies with significant impacts in 2020 across five categories: Innovation, Business Accomplishment, Company Culture, Community Impact, and COVID-19 Response.
“Our mission is to serve patients, families and employees as they navigate through these challenging times, by making it easy to access support that keeps them and loved ones healthy and safe,” said Ashley Reid, Founder and CEO of Wellist. “We are humbled to receive this award from MassTLC alongside other companies that are stepping up to help our community through the pandemic.”
Wellist helps patients and caregivers navigate to trusted and vetted resources in their local community through a web-based or concierge call center experience. Patients who enroll in Wellist can build a personalized support plan with clinically-tailored services to address every day needs ranging from food delivery and childcare to financial assistance and health care. Over 40% of Wellist resources are free or low-cost and the program is available regardless of insurance status.
At the onset of the pandemic, Wellist shifted from delivering services primarily on-site to virtually connecting patients and providers to services through their web-based, digital and on-call support services. Their COVID-19 program helps patients navigate to free testing sites, reduce exposure risk and aids in COVID recovery, while saving health care workers time addressing patient needs.
Wellist recently partnered with Beth Israel Lahey Health at their COVID-19 testing site in Chelsea, one of the communities in Massachusetts that has been hit hardest by the pandemic. This site offers free COVID-19 testing to any resident as part of the Commonwealth’s Stop the Spread Program. To assist Beth Israel, Wellist vetted and curated over 10,000 community-based services in Massachusetts including free, subsidized and discounted COVID-19 resources, to address the daily, logistical challenges of safely quarantining while awaiting test results or recovering from the virus. The Wellist program also links patients back to their health system via trusted health information, nonmedical resources, and patient tools. Additionally, Wellist expanded its crowdfunding tool to coordinate social and financial support from friends and family. Patients come to the site for a COVID-19 test and leave with a resource navigation program to help with everything from financial assistance to emotional support, needs that have been exacerbated by the pandemic.
"Wellist has been an instrumental partner in our COVID-19 response, during a time when it has never been more important that patients have the support they need at home," said Kelly Orlando, Executive Director of Ambulatory Care at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. "Whether a patient is waiting for a COVID test result or returning home after care in our hospital, we know that Wellist will make sure they are supported as needs arise."
“We’re grateful that our partnership with Beth Israel Lahey Health has allowed us to amplify the compassionate care delivered by front-line staff,” said Reid.
As the pandemic has taken an increasing toll on health care workers, Wellist extended its program to clinicians and front-line staff through WellistCares, a program that supports employees and helps keep them safe in high-risk workplace settings. The program provides timely support for health care workers and families, ranging from errands and laundry services near home to childcare options near work.
