Are you eco curious?  Not really sure what green living means or what it's all about?    You're not alone.  A new study by Technomic finds that the term "sustainable" is still confusing for U.S. consumers.  Fortunately, the FTC's recent unveiling of its update to the Guides for the Use of Environmental Marketing Claims will clarify companies marketing messages around sustainable and eco friendly products; however, as the green landscape continues to evolve, doesn’t our definition of personal sustainability evolve as well?  

Many living a sustainable lifestyle feel legislation and corporate messaging is behind the curve.  What differentiates those walking the green walk is a mindset in which marketing claims aim to address.  So, what is that mindset?  As described in our eco friendly consulting, living green or a sustainable lifestyle is a primary focus on eco awareness with actions towards reducing ones carbon footprint, managing waste, and embracing sustainability concepts in decision making.   For those well versed in sustainability concepts, a sustainable lifestyle may be very different compared to someone just beginning to make sustainable life changes.  Keeping it simple, a sustainable lifestyle is about making choices and taking eco actions and can be categorized in different areas of our lives.
