What Is a Renewable Energy Certificate?
A short animated video illustrating how RECs are created, tracked, traded, and finally sold to end users
Across North America, Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) create the pathway for individuals and organizations to green their power. For nearly two decades, RECs have transformed markets for renewable energy by helping renewable energy generators connect with clean energy buyers, regardless of where the energy is generated or used.
At Center for Resource Solutions and Green-e, we developed a short animated video to help illustrate this system, including how RECs are created, tracked, traded, and finally sold to end users. We hope that this will help spread the word about the importance and ability for household and business to switch to clean, renewable energy—no matter where they are located.
If you like it, please feel free to forward it on, link to it at http://youtu.be/opJMrzNauFQ, use it in presentations, and spread the word.
If you have any ideas to make it better, please let us know.
