Whirlpool Corporation: Recognizing America’s Veterans Today and Every Day

Each year, on November 11th, our country comes together to recognize the commitment the men and women of our armed forces make to protect our freedom and uphold the liberties we have been afforded. Whirlpool Corporation joins millions of Americans as we celebrate the service and the sacrifice of our nation’s veterans.

Whirlpool Corporation knows America’s veterans carry that commitment to service, honor and duty with them to the workplace every day. The company respects the leadership experience and supports military veterans through employment opportunities, employee resource groups and a strong commitment to social causes that provide home appliances to severely disabled veterans.

Through the Whirlpool Veterans Association (WVA), veterans re-entering the civilian workforce can gain a sense of camaraderie through mentorship that sets them up for success in their chosen career field. The WVA has been instrumental in developing partnerships for additional veteran recruitment, such as Whirlpool’s partnership with Orion International and in 2013, the group became the official appliance sponsor of Homes for Our Troops (HFOT), a U.S. non-profit organization that assists veterans who were severely injured in combat. Since 2004, HFOT has handed over the keys for nearly 140 mortgage-free home build projects.

While we take this time each year to recognize the commitment and sacrifice our nation’s veterans make for their country, we know it’s recognition they deserve every day.
