World Environment Center Names Glenn Prickett as Interim President and CEO
June 5, 2019 /3BL Media/ The World Environment Center (WEC) announced today that long-time sustainability expert Glenn Prickett has been named interim CEO of WEC on a part-time basis, following the departure of Lori Michelin. Prickett will oversee WEC’s world-recognized programs and strategic mission to advance sustainable development and corporate sustainability in partnership with governments, multilateral organizations, the private sector, and other stakeholders.
“We are excited to have Glenn lend us his expertise on a part-time basis to help WEC through this transition period,” said Kelly Semrau, Chair of WEC’s Board of Directors and Senior Vice President - Global Corporate Affairs, Communications & Sustainability at SC Johnson. “We thank Lori Michelin for her service to WEC and wish her the best in her new role.”
As head of Rock Creek Strategies, LLC, Prickett brings more than 30 years of experience in sustainability, government relations and corporate practices. He was Chief External Officer at The Nature Conservancy, founded and led the Center for Environmental Leadership in Business at Conservation International, and was a senior fellow at the United Nations Foundation to help shape core elements of an effective global response to climate change. He also served in the Clinton Administration as chief environmental advisor at the U.S. Agency for International Development, where he coordinated policy and budget for U.S. environmental and energy assistance to developing nations.
Prickett begins his work with the WEC effective immediately to assure a smooth transition with Michelin before her departure on June 15th.
