Xylem Wins China Women and Children’s Philanthropy Award For Xylem Watermark Program
On April 8, Xylem was awarded the China Women and Children’s Philanthropy Award for the company’s corporate citizenship program, Xylem Watermark. Xylem was among 244 recipients who were recognized for their contributions to advancing women during an awards ceremony held by China Women’s Development Foundation in conjunction with China Children’s Foundation, and sponsored by the All-China Women’s Federation, a women’s rights organization that has been operating for over 60 years.
Under the leadership of All-China Women’s Federation, China Women’s Development Foundation, one of Xylem Watermark’s six nonprofit partners, works to improve women’s overall quality of life and actively participates in many women’s initiatives, including women’s education, training, poverty alleviation, and disaster rescue. The organization has worked with Xylem to implement projects in primary schools throughout China, which have brought greater access to clean water solutions and hygiene education. More than 34,000 students have benefited from the work Xylem and China Women’s Development Foundation, through the construction of hand-washing facilities, improvements to drinking water facilities, and health education and training for students.
