Good nutrition is essential for a healthy start in life and the foundation for optimal growth and development. For pregnant women and infants, having access to the right micronutrients is especially important as a child who is well nourished in the crucial first 1,000 days of their life is ten times more likely to overcome life-threatening childhood diseases and will complete 4.6 more grades at school.

Shipping containers play a major role in global trade, helping companies around the world to move goods securely from A to B. However, until recently, containers manufactured in China were painted using solvent-heavy coatings. This endangered the health of local communities due to the release of high concentrations of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) into the atmosphere.

DSM believes that taking climate action is both a responsibility and an opportunity. That’s why we improve our own environmental impact, enable the same for our customers, and advocate a progressive climate action agenda.

DSM has committed to reducing 30% of its greenhouse gas emissions from direct production and purchased energy in absolute terms by 2030 compared to 2016. DSM will decouple emissions from its growth through energy efficiency measures and sourcing more renewable electricity. As a complementary target, DSM will be purchasing 75% of electricity from renewable sources by 2030, with 41% already being renewable in 2018. On top of this, DSM applies an internal carbon price of €50 per ton of CO2 to further guide its investments and operational decisions towards low carbon operations.
