The deciding factor for the jury was our partnership-based supplier management and how our core business is contributing to sustainable development. In honor of its longstanding efforts to help protect consumers against mosquito-borne diseases like Zika and dengue fever, SC Johnson today announced it has received an award from EcoHealth Alliance, a nonprofit organization that focuses on pandemic prevention and conservation. The award highlights the company’s ongoing commitment to provide donations and educational materials across the globe to families most at risk.

SC Johnson announced today that it is ranked No. 71 on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) National Top 100 List of the largest green power users from the Green Power Partnership. SC Johnson is using nearly 117 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of green power annually, which represents almost 63 percent of its total power needs.

While we’re all winners when sustainability becomes the norm, Bacardi announced its internal winners of its 4th Annual Bacardi Good Spirited awards. Employees, teams, and facilities received recognition for their substantial environmental achievements within five different award categories. From upcycled glassware in Australia to engineering feats in Puerto Rico, and continued efforts to popularize the Bacardi No Straws campaign, among other initiatives, the winners produced considerable achievements for the environment, brand recognition, and savings.

With many of Avery Dennison’s solutions made from paper, maintaining a sustainable paper supply is vital to our business success and achieving our long-term sustainability goals. In fact, we’re aiming to use 100% FSC-Certified paper for all of our products by the year 2025.

Dennis Pittman, who serves as Smithfield Foods’ senior director of hunger relief, last week received the Frank Timberlake “Innovation in Action” Award from the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, a Feeding America Food Bank based in Charlotte, N.C.

Each year, the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina hosts an awards luncheon for partners in the community who have gone above and beyond to support their mission to end hunger in the 19 counties they serve throughout North Carolina and South Carolina. Dennis has been recognized for his leadership of Smithfield’s Helping Hungry Homes® initiative and his years of work to support the fight against hunger.

Bloomberg was yesterday awarded the ‘Corporate Workplace’ award at the annual British Council of Offices (BCO) Awards in London, which recognize excellence and innovation in workplace design. The award, which was accepted by Catriona Henderson, Head of Facilities for Bloomberg, EMEA and Simona Bencini, Partner & Architect, Foster + Partners, was judged by a panel of industry experts from the engineering, property, architecture, construction and design sectors who praised the Bloomberg project for “taking office building sustainability to unmatched levels of excellence.”
