In Search of the Most Community-Minded Companies in the Nation, Points of Light Launches Survey for the 2018 Civic 50

Washington, D.C. (Dec. 14, 2017) – This week, Points of Light opened the survey for the 2018 Civic 50, an annual initiative that recognizes the 50 most community-minded companies in the nation each year. Now in its sixth year, the Civic 50 provides a national standard for superior corporate citizenship and showcases how companies can use their time, skills and other resources to improve the quality of life in the communities where they do business.

Newsweek Ranks Consumers Energy as #1 Company in Michigan in Annual "Green Rankings"

Consumers Energy has been ranked as Michigan’s top company – and ninth in the nation – in Newsweek’s annual “Green Rankings,” a reflection of its commitment to environmental principles that are good for its home state of Michigan and customers. Consumers Energy was flanked by Apple and Johnson & Johnson on the list of top performing companies in the country. California-based Cisco Systems finished first overall.

Nearly 1,000 companies are considered for inclusion in the JUST 100.

21CF Named Industry Leader in Environmental Sustainability by Latest CDP Report

In its latest analysis of US companies’ action on climate change, the nonprofit CDP recognized 21st Century Fox as a national leader in environmental sustainability. The annual report evaluates the strength and effectiveness of corporate sustainability efforts, and this year, it awarded 21CF an overall performance score of A-, a higher score than any of its media peers. The honor arrives as 21CF celebrates the 10-year anniversary of launching its corporate sustainability program, committing to addressing its environmental impacts and inspiring its global audience to take action.

Essity Discloses Its Footprint in WWF’s Environmental Paper Company Index

Essity has shown its commitment to transparency by participating in the Environmental Paper Company Index 2017 (EPCI). The Group receives an overall score of 78.7% and 94% out of a maximum of 100% for its responsible fiber sourcing. The EPCI is a WWF tool that promotes transparency and continual improvement in the global pulp, paper and packing sector towards sustainability.
