Our daily decisions about what we eat impact our environment, and food is one area where we each have the power to effect change. As Aramark Executive Chef in Symantec’s Mountain View café, it’s my job to feed roughly 1,000 people each day. At Aramark, we believe the consumer sets the table, so menus are developed using proprietary research and consumer insights. Our research shows people today are more knowledgeable than ever, in issues relating to health and wellness, and ethical wellbeing, and therefore more demanding of companies, to align with their concerns. This extends to the humane treatment of animals, local purchasing, and responsible sourcing.

If you’ve been following our content this year, you’ve likely heard us mention a concept called “The Knitting Factor,” which brings together three key conditions that enable skills-based engagements between the private and nonprofit sectors to create strengthened, sustainable solutions that don’t come undone when partners part ways. There are three key characteristics that make up The Knitting Factor, but for skills-based volunteering to become truly transformative, organizations need to find the “sticky” relationships that enable companies and nonprofits to drive progress on both mission and business-related goals.

A Decade of Caring: FCA Us Recognized for Improving the Health and Overall Well-being of Employees and Families for 10th Consecutive Year

FCA US LLC was once again recognized by the National Business Group on Health (NBGH), earning a gold medal for its comprehensive programs that enable a healthy workplace and encourage healthy lifestyles for both employees and families.

Tyson Foods and Feeding America® Announce Results of $1M Protein Innovation Fund Distribution

Tyson Foods and Feeding America® today announced the results of a two-year project focused on empowering local food banks to develop innovative animal protein sourcing programs to address hunger on the community level.

The Tyson Foods Protein Innovation Fund provided $1 million to 10 Feeding America food banks in nine states to fund protein sourcing projects that have the potential to be scaled and replicated across the Feeding America network.

Consumers Energy Plugs in to Clean Energy Future,Turning to Electric Vehicles for Company Employees

Consumers Energy yesterday announced plans to provide more electric vehicles for its employees -- a major step toward a clean energy future for Michigan.

Consumers Energy President and CEO Patti Poppe said yesterday morning that the company is now buying or leasing electric vehicles instead of purchasing new sedans that rely on gasoline. Poppe and an official from General Motors also announced the start of a pilot program to test smart charging for electric vehicle owners.
