Educational and Environmental Programs Define EarthChoice Ambassadors

Educational and environmental programs took center stage for our EarthChoice Ambassadors (ECAs) in 2018, with more than 11,500 volunteer hours spent focusing on communities where we live, work and play. With nearly double the amount of volunteer hours from last year, our ECA chapters are committed to making the world a better place.

21CF Sponsors Nat Geo Photo Camps to Teach Young People the Power of Visual Storytelling

National Geographic Society and 21st Century Fox joined forces to welcome nearly 80 students around the world to Nat Geo’s signature Photo Camp workshops, which teach young people from under-served communities, including at-risk and refugee teens, to use photography to tell their own stories, explore the world around them, and develop deep connections with others.

Curiosity Cube™ Mobile Science Lab Completes 2018 Tour

From San Diego to Rockville, Maryland and dozens of stops in between — MilliporeSigma’s Curiosity Cube™ mobile science lab brought hands-on science to many communities and young minds across North America in 2018. Through 118 events during the second annual tour, the Curiosity Cube™ mobile science lab aimed to spark students’ curiosity in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). This year’s schedule included a stop in Toronto as part of the mobile science lab’s first visit to Canada.

Subaru of America President & CEO Joins Volunteers in Delivering 5,000 Books to Local Camden Schools

Subaru of America is proud to announce a donation of more than 5,000 science books to twenty Camden schools, continuing the brand’s commitment to education as part of its Subaru Loves Learning initiative. Earlier this week, Subaru of America President and CEO, Thomas J. Doll, joined Acting State Superintendent Katrina McCombs, and Harry C. Sharp Elementary School Principal Evelyn Ruiz to personally deliver the donated books to the Harry C. Sharp Elementary School. Following the delivery, Doll read one of the donated science books to a third-grade class of inquisitive students.

Arconic Foundation, the independently endowed philanthropic arm of Arconic and Discovery Education, the leading provider of digital content and professional development for K-12 classrooms, today announced Mansfield Junior-Senior High School in Mansfield, Pa. as the first-ever grand prize winner of the Manufacture Your Future Teacher Challenge. Mansfield Junior-Senior High School were awarded a $5,000 grant, in-school winner celebration and the opportunity to send a distinguished STEM educator to Discovery’s 2019 Educator Network (DEN) Summer Institute.
