Who Are the Winners of the European Bio-Based Innovation Awards 2017?

Last week at the end of the second day of Bio-Based Live Europe, hosted at the University of Amsterdam, the winners of the Bio-Based Innovation Awards (Europe) were announced. The winner of our European Bio-Based Chemical Innovation of the Year 2017 which is Cyrene developed by Mercki, the Chemistry Centre of Excellence at the University of York and Circa Group in response to increasing demand for safer, greener alternatives to PMF and NMP.

Florida County Successfully Tests Direct Potable Reuse

In July 2016, Xylem collaborated with Tetra Tech, the WateReuse Association, and GE to design, build, and operate a pilot purification process for direct potable reuse. The process would treat reclaimed effluent wastewater to comply with the federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) drinking water standards.

The Vietnamese government has ambitious goals for providing cleaner drinking water to its citizens. With Xylem’s ozone treatment technology now installed at a plant in Ho Chi Minh City, 1.5 million people have access to cleaner water.

TD Forests Helps Protect 6,000 Hectares of Historic Kenauk Property in Quebec

On the occasion of World Environment Day, June 5, the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC), with support from TD Bank Group through the TD Forests Program, announced the protection of 6,000 hectares (15,000 acres, representing a 3-kilometre wide and 20-kilometre long corridor) on the Kenauk property in Quebec.
