The environmental impact of any business enterprise depends on the specific environmental conditions and challenges that exist where that enterprise is doing business. So a dairy in Vermont, where the water tables are high but solar energy is more intermittent, will have a different set of environmental factors to consider than a dairy in dry and sunny Arizona. In other words, sustainability planning is context-specific.

The Whalesafe Project, co-funded by the European Union’s Life+ Program with the involvement of partners including the Università degli Studi di Genova (Department of Physics and Department of Earth Sciences, Environment and Life), Costa Edutainment, Genoa Maritime Directorate, Savona Harbor Master’s Office and Softeco who have joined forces for the conservation of the sperm whale (Physeter macrocephalus), has come on board Costa Cruises’ ships.

Following a successful first season and an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Informational Series, Neil deGrasse Tyson's science-focused talk show StarTalk returned for its second season on 21st Century Fox's National Geographic Channel on Sunday, October 25. The series, based on Tyson's popular radio show and podcast of the same name, features comedians, academics, and celebrity guests such as President Bill Clinton, Susan Sarandon, and Seth MacFarlane in conversation with Tyson about how science affects their lives and careers. StarTalk airs at 11/10c on Sundays on National Geographic Channel.
