The Fortune 2018 Change the World list features 57 companies that are doing well by doing good. These businesses are trying to fix big problems and make money while doing it. That’s right, it’s not a list about charity (though many of these companies also have charitable efforts). Las Vegas Sands and long-time partner, Clean the World, have hosted hygiene kit builds every year since 2014. The first year, the large volunteer effort brought in a total of 100,000 hygiene kits for populations in need. The kit builds have expanded into a global event in the US, Macao, and Singapore and support the company’s active approach on community relief and disaster preparedness efforts through Sands Cares, the company’s global corporate giving and community engagement program.

Supporting the Troops in Las Vegas

Each month, the Las Vegas United Service Organizations (USO) hosts two Deployed Family Dinners for spouses and children who have a family member that is actively deployed. The USO Las Vegas helps provide a home away from home and a sense of community for more than 32,200 active duty troops, more than 4,700 National Guard personnel, Reservist, and their families based in Southern Nevada.

Sands Cares Ambassadors Provide Support Before and After Typhoon Mangkhut

In response to the Macau Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IACM) calling on the Macao community to help alleviate damage throughout the city caused by Typhoon Mangkhut, 60 volunteers from Sands China Ltd.’s (SCL) Sands Cares Ambassador program helped clean up Hac Sa beach, where they disposed of branches, debris, and helped shovel displaced sand back onto the beach.
