Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation Supports Hurricane Florence Relief Efforts in the Southeast U.S.

The Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation is supporting emergency relief effort in the southeastern United States following Hurricane Florence, which made landfall in North Carolina on September 14. The storm is slowly moving across the Carolinas, causing widespread flooding, destroying homes and forcing thousands of residents to flee.

Walmart and Sam’s Club Announce Customer Campaign to Assist With 2018 U.S. Hurricane Relief

With a catastrophic storm, flooding and power outages hitting the Eastern Seaboard, Walmart and Sam’s Club are launching a customer campaign to assist impacted communities with hurricane relief. The Walmart 2018 Hurricane Relief Fund at Foundation For The Carolinas will match customer donations two-to-one with cash donations up to $5 million for disaster response and recovery.

Aligning CSR Spending to Improve Workforce Diversity

Today, women hold only 19% of computing degrees with women of color holding just 4%. Symantec has joined the Reboot Representation Tech Coalition to align existing philanthropic donations with peers and build a more inclusive workforce. Together, we plan to double the number of women of color graduating with computing degrees by 2025.

On Saturday, September 8th, Nestle Waters North America sponsored California’s Day of Preparedness in Sacramento, California. The annual event, hosted each year by California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES), is open to the public and regularly sees over 5,000 attendees.

JetBlue Donates Instruments to A Miami Middle School After a Decade Without Music

Last month, JetBlue worked with VH1’s Save the Music to donate instruments to Henry H. Filer Middle Schoo in Hialeah, Fla. l to “bring the beat back.” The donation will help revival their music program, which had been shut down for more than a decade. JetBlue recognizes how much music adds into a child’s education. The arts help inspire creative thinking and opportunities. The event ended on a high note with a surprise guest performance from Emily Estefan.

With a focus on STEAM (science, technology engineering, arts and math) education, JetBlue has been a proud partner of VH1 Save The Music for more than 10 years, raising more than $300,000 to boost the Foundation’s mission on a national level and save the music in public schools across the country.

Holland America Line Donates $25,000 to Seattle Children’s as Part of K’s for Kids with the Seattle Mariners

Holland America Line President Orlando Ashford presented a check for $25,000 to Seattle Children’s Uncompensated Care Fund Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018, at the Seattle Mariners’ home game at Safeco Field. The company made the donation as part of its partnership with the Seattle Mariners Major League Baseball team and the K’s for Kids program. Holland America Line became the presenting sponsor of the program during the 2014 baseball season.
