AkzoNobel has become a sponsor of Het Koninklijk Concertgebouw, the Royal Concert Hall of the Netherlands, for a period of five years. As part of the collaboration, over the coming years AkzoNobel will help conserve the monumental concert hall in Amsterdam with paint and decorative products from its Sikkens brand.
Recently, 25 members of the Volkswagen Group of America Young Professionals Employee Resource Group (YP ERG) supported Fauquier Habitat for Humanity to construct a new home for a young couple and their Labrador mix in Huntly, Va. The YP ERG members used their volunteer day, a company provided paid day off to serve in the community, to install windows and doors, add structural elements and raise a shed.
In an enormous show of support for local communities around the world, more than 4,000 Viacom employees threw themselves into the 21st annual Viacommunity Day last Friday. To celebrate Earth Day this year, the sustainability department, along with other Team Members from Sands Bethlehem, volunteered their time at a local elementary school to host the second annual Earth Day Fair.
