NFL Tight End Jared Cook Gives Back to Empower Youth and Change Lives

"I volunteer because of the young men who look like us, who are in the same situations as us, who need mentors," said Jared Cook, tight end for the Oakland Raiders. Off the field, Jared can often be found giving back – whether it be helping out through fundraising events or volunteering to help provide food to people in need. The importance of service was instilled in him early on, by parents who encouraged him to “count your blessings.”

Keep America Beautiful, the nation’s leading nonprofit which envisions a country where every community is a clean, green and beautiful place to live, will close its application period for its national Youth Advisory Council (YAC) on Friday, May 5. Applications are open to students entering their sophomore, junior or senior years in the fall of 2017.

Xploration Station and its partners in this year’s contest are looking to award America’s most passionate aerospace student with the trip of a lifetime.
