Timberland Sample Sale Raises $29,000 to Help End Hunger in Derry, NH
At the company’s spring sample sale in June, Timberland employees opened their wallets and raised $29,000 to benefit the Derry, NH Chapter of the non-profit organization, End 68 Hours of Hunger. End 68 Hours of Hunger puts nourishing food in the hands of school children in need, to carry them through the weekend. Each bag of food provides two breakfasts, two lunches, and three dinners for a child, with some left over to share.

The Derry chapter of End 68 Hours of Hunger typically feeds 70 families per week during the school year, and set a goal to expand to 120 families in fall 2018. The $29,000 donation from the Timberland sample sale, which translates into 2,900 bags of food (at $10 per bag), enables them to achieve this goal.

Guest Post: Timberland PRO Team Leaves Service Footprint at Children’s Home in Puerto Rico
I recently had the opportunity to visit Puerto Rico to help the Timberland PRO team plan and execute a two-day service event in conjunction with its spring sales meeting. Moved by the devastation caused by last fall’s Hurricane Maria and eager to make a difference, the PRO team decided to change its usual regional meetings and meet as one national team in Puerto Rico. Community service is core to Timberland’s DNA, so it’s not unusual for us to build service into key company events such as sales meetings, vendor summits, and more. But in this case, the PRO team went above and beyond a typical service event, and dedicated two ten-hour days of the three-day meeting to serve.

Timberland and Smallholder Farmers Alliance Celebrate Haiti’s First Cotton Harvest in 30 Years

Once Haiti’s fourth largest export crop, cotton growing stopped in the 1980s due to policies and politics of the time. Now outdoor lifestyle brand Timberland, in partnership with the Smallholders Farmers Alliance (SFA) and other companies, aims to bring cotton back as phase two of its ongoing work to help reforest Haiti and benefit smallholder farmers.
