WASHINGTON, February 5, 2016 /3BL Media/ - Amanda MacArthur, Vice President of Global Pro Bono and Engagement, PYXERA Global, spoke on the "Competitors or Contributors: How a Scaled-Up PeaceTech Industry Helps Fortune 500s” panel at PeaceTech Summit 2016 Thursday February 4.

“In any partnership the end goals do not need to be the same, but they cannot be mutually exclusive either,” said MacArthur. “Finding overlap in goals will uncover the mutual benefit, the motivation to partner, and the perspective to understand one another.”

Hanne Dalmut, Senior Specialist, PeaceTech Lab, led the discussion with MacArthur and panelist Sam Lee, Manager, Technology innovations, Humanity United. The conversation addressed how peacetech industries can show worth to fortune 500 companies operating in emerging markets. Peacetech industries might provide risk assessment data, serve as an incubator for innovative technologies, and train staff to gain new perspectives when addressing challenges. The panel also shared insights into many ways a corporations can earn profits through supporting a peacetech industry.
