As the global leader in electronic payments, we understand the level of trust consumers and merchants place in our operations. That’s why we at Visa are proud to be recognized for the sixth consecutive year as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies by the Ethisphere Institute, the premier organization in defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices.

“This recognition underscores our commitment and dedication to leading with integrity, prioritizing ethical business practices and operating responsibly and sustainably throughout our payments ecosystem,” said Leonard Shen, Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer at Visa Inc.

The World's Most Ethical Companies distinction is based on the Ethisphere Institute’s proprietary Ethics Quotient® (EQ) framework, which offers a quantitative way to assess a company’s performance. The Framework honors superior achievements in corporate governance, risk, sustainability, compliance and ethics. Visa is one of 135 honorees recognized on the list, which spans 24 countries and 57 industries. To view the full list of honorees, click here.

This recognition follows recent accolades for Visa’s corporate responsibility efforts, including an award for “2017 Best Compliance and Ethics Program – Large Cap” by Corporate Secretary, being named a Top 100 U.S. Green Company and recognition within the Human Right Campaign 2018 Corporate Equality Index (CEI) as well as the Diversity Best Practices Inclusion Index.
