Company lands 3 spots on the Most Powerful Women in Business list
Columbus, Ga., March 10, 2017 /3BL Media/ – Aflac, the leading provider of voluntary insurance at the worksite in the United States, announced today that Aflac U.S. President Teresa White, Executive Vice President and General Counsel Audrey Boone Tillman, and Vice President of Human Resources Brenda Mullins have all been selected to appear on BLACK ENTERPRISE Magazine’s 2017 list of the Most Powerful Women in Business. According to Black Enterprise, a leading business publication with a reported audience of 6 million readers, this is a list of the highest-ranking and most influential African-American female executives.
“For a company like Aflac, which prides itself on our diverse and talented workforce, we are extremely satisfied to see the work of these very talented women being recognized by BLACK ENTERPRISE Magazine,” Aflac Chairman and CEO Dan Amos said. “Teresa, Audrey and Brenda are at the top of their respective disciplines when it comes to making Aflac the leader of our industry. The entire Aflac family salutes this outstanding accomplishment.”
In compiling this year's list, the BLACK ENTERPRISE research team conducted in-depth research, with the final roster being culled from thousands of potential candidates across numerous industries, including the finance, pharmaceutical and retail sectors. These executives have authority over budgets totaling billions of dollars and control subsidiaries, divisions or departments that affect the fiscal health and direction of their businesses.
"You could not find a better example of women of power than the female executives represented in this issue. Our editorial team developed this list to not only celebrate the black female business elite," said BLACK ENTERPRISE President and CEO Earl "Butch" Graves Jr., "but to demonstrate that it requires unparalleled expertise and resilience to break through barriers that female executives continue to face today."
