Advancing Justice Honors Time Warner Cable with Bridge Builder Award

On October 6th, I had the honor of attending the Asian Americans Advancing Justice (AAJC) American Courage Awards in Washington. Time Warner Cable received the Bridge Builder Award, which “recognizes an individual or organization that has developed an innovative approach to successful community empowerment and that strives to overcome obstacles for Asian Americans and other minority communities.” This is very meaningful for our company. It’s also quite significant for me, personally.
Bridges link people. They’re the perfect metaphor for how Time Warner Cable functions as a company. Our mission statement begins, “We connect people.” People—our customers, our employees, our communities across 29 states—are the bedrock of our business. Time Warner Cable understands that the health of our business is inextricably linked to the well-being of our communities. We share in mutual successes and challenges. The communities we serve include more than half of all Asian and Pacific Islander Americans.
