AEG employee volunteers prepared and served more than 1,200 meals to U.S. Veterans throughout Los Angeles and families from neighborhoods adjacent to L.A. LIVE; Event coincided with company’s annual Season of Giving Initiative
In celebration of Thanksgiving, AEG hosted more than 1,200 local residents - including 300 U.S. military veterans and their families, along with 900 members of the Pico Union community in downtown Los Angeles – for a free Thanksgiving dinner at The Novo at L.A. LIVE earlier today.
“We are proud that we were able to provide more than 1,200 people with a warm meal on Thanksgiving,” said Mark Girton, SVP of Special Events, AEG Presents. “Serving the community is part of AEG’s DNA and I’m always blown away by the number of employees that join me year after year, to give up their own Thanksgiving in order to serve those who have served our Country and others who are in need within the community.”
The Thanksgiving Celebration was part of AEG’s annual Season of Giving, the company’s holiday initiative that encourages its employees throughout the world to engage in charitable activities with local nonprofit organizations.
Guests from select nonprofit organizations enjoyed a full course Thanksgiving meal catered by Wolfgang Puck Catering served by AEG employee volunteers. Participating nonprofit organizations included: A Place Called Home, All People’s Community Center, Boyle Heights Technology Youth Center, CARECEN, Central City Neighborhood Partners, Hope Street Family Center, Ketchum Downtown YMCA, Olympic Primary Center, Salvation Army Red Shield Center, St. Francis Center, Tenth Street Elementary school, U.S. Vets – Inglewood (Los Angeles) and U.S. Vets – Long Beach.
