After Seven Years in Foster Care, Teen Boy is Adopted

When Phoenix Creech was adopted on July 14th, it ended seven years of uncertainty. Phoenix had been in foster care for 2,598 days before finally being adopted by his forever family. His Wendy’s Wonderful Kids recruiter never gave up hope and we are so thankful she didn’t.

The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption is committed to dramatically increasing the number of adoptions from foster care. The Wendy’s Wonderful kids adoption program is our signature program. Through that program we train adoption recruiters and fund their positions with adoption agencies across the country. Our recruiters work with the children who are most at risk of not being adopted: older children, sibling groups and children with special needs.

We are so happy for Phoenix and all children like him who tonight are home with their families and no longer lingering in foster care.
