Alliance Data's African American Resource Group Employee Spotlight: La'Ron Louis and Paulette Burks
This week, we continue to partner with our African American Resource Group (AARG) to share the perspectives and experiences of associates in observance of Black History Month. The AARG encourages Black associates and their allies to “lift as we climb," educating themselves and uplifting the community around them.
La’Ron has been with Alliance Data for 2 years and enjoys giving back to his community in Atlanta, GA by volunteering with local shelters and food banks that cater to the needs of African American youth in underprivileged areas. He often volunteers with Open Hand Atlanta to pack and deliver food to local shelters and residents.
Paulette has been with Alliance Data for 5 months and is a member Lifeline of Ohio's African American Advisory Council, advocating for organ, eye, and tissue donation. She also served a two-year term as Marketing Co-Chair with the Columbus Urban League Young Professionals, a network that serves the community through service, advocacy, and personal and professional development. One of her favorite programs she imitated was 614 Black Restaurant Week where they highlighted local Black-owned restaurants to drive revenue and new customers to minority owned businesses. Paulette is also a proud member of the historically Black sisterhood of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. who is dedicated to sister, scholarship and service.
