Arrow Electronics Participates in 43rd Annual National Society of Black Engineers Conference
In late March, members of Arrow Electronics’ recruiting team took part in the 43rd Annual National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Annual Convention held in Kansas City, Mo. The event attracted undergraduate and graduate NSBE students majoring in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, making it one of the largest gatherings of STEM talent across the U.S.
With more than 31,000 members, NSBE is a student-governed organization. Its mission is “to increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community.”
This year’s week-long convention drew an estimated 12,000 attendees, more than 250 exhibitors and featured hundreds of workshops and roundtables. For Arrow recruiting, the event serves a dual purpose: First, it helps the company further develop a diverse base of STEM candidates. Second, it gives Arrow the opportunity to hire up to five interns from the event.
Representing key functional business areas like digital technology, marketing and university recruiting, Arrow’s participation underscores the company’s commitment to innovation and to shaping a diverse and inclusive global workforce.

Arrow’s commitment to building a diverse workforce was recently recognized by Profiles in Diversity Journal, which awarded Arrow an honorary mention in its 2016 International Innovation in Diversity Awards.
