Arrow Electronics Strives to Attract Diverse Workforce
Arrow Electronics participated in a regional National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) recruiting event in Denver earlier this month. The career fair featured over 300 undergraduate and graduate NSBE students majoring in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Arrow participated alongside 30 other top technology companies.
“The NSBE partnership enables Arrow to accomplish our goal of infusing diverse talent into our internship program and business,” said Arrow HR Specialist Michael Handshear who organized Arrow’s participation in the NSBE event. “We’re a global company, so it’s important that our team reflects the diversity of the great customers and suppliers we work with all over the world. Without our exceptional people, Arrow wouldn’t be able to provide the unparalleled design, production and logistics support that our customers and suppliers have come to expect.
Arrow’s commitment to building a diverse workforce was recently recognized by Profiles in Diversity Journal, which awarded Arrow with an honorable mention in its 2016 International Innovation in Diversity Awards.
