Avista Completes Upgrades at Post Falls South Channel Dam

Avista recently completed upgrades to our Post Falls South Channel Dam, in Post Falls, Idaho. Constructed in 1906, the dam has been completely upgraded and refurbished over the last two years. Today, the dam has six new spill gates, frames and hoists, along with a new spillway control system, electrical distribution equipment, and concrete facing.
With work completed, the historic structure will continue its role in generating clean, low-cost renewable energy and providing summer recreational opportunities and spring flood control on Coeur d’Alene Lake, for another 100 years.
