(3BL Media) Bakersfield, CA - September 11, 2012 – This September, the Kern Chapter of the American Red Cross will commemorate National Preparedness Month with an event geared to prepare the residents of Kern County to Be Red Cross Ready.
WHAT: Celebrate National Preparedness Month with the American Red Cross and Pacific Gas and Electric Company at the “Prep Rally” this Friday, September 14, 2012. Meet several county preparedness agencies and learn how to prepare yourself, your family and your neighbors for disaster. All participants will receive free preparedness information, free giveaways, and the opportunity to win several emergency kits.
WHO: Local government and political officials are expected to attend and speak on behalf of National Preparedness Month, including Mayor Harvey L. Hall, Elected Officials and other community leaders. WHY: The American Red Cross and Pacific Gas and Electric Company have joined as partners in preparedness to promote an educational campaign to increase disaster preparedness throughout the Central Valley. This has been made possible by PG&E through a continued sponsorship of $175,000 to the Central Valley Region.
