Now more than ever, we must listen to diverse perspectives in order to better address inequality and build a more sustainable and inclusive society. That is why the Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth decided to commemorate Black History Month in February and Women's History Month in March by welcoming to Mastercard a true champion for positive change: Leader Stacey Abrams.

The former Democratic Leader of the Georgia House of Representatives is a serial entrepreneur, non-profit CEO and political trailblazer. At the age of 47, she has already accomplished what many would need several lifetimes to do. Leader Abrams is the first Black woman to win a major party's nomination for governor in the United States. She is the first Black woman to deliver the response to a president's State of the Union address. And her groundbreaking work to expand voter access in Georgia led to record voter turnout in the 2020 presidential election and the 2021 Senate runoffs.
